Easy Green Initiatives For Any Community
One of the major misconceptions people have regarding the green movement is that only big steps make a difference. Like the only way that you can help the environment is by getting rid of your car and using nothing but wind power for your home. The truth is, if you are not ready to take a bit step, there are plenty of little steps you can take to help the environment. Heck, here are three that a community can adopt to make a difference:
1) Start a recycling program
Recycling is easy to do, and somethign that families can make a little bit of money on. Heck, you may only get 20 for the can’s that a family saves, but it’s 20 that can lead to a special night out.
2) Put together a community park
Take an area that is just gathering dust, so to say, and put together a community park full of sustainable plants, and exhibits. By using only volunteers to put it together (and people will volunteer for somethign like this), it won’t cost a community much to put together.
3) Have businesses cut down on energy use by making a competition of it
Put together a competition to see which business in your area can save the most on energy costs per month. It’s a way to both get people interested in saving energy, and to raise awareness of it.
